Vintage Yarn Beaded Scarf & Giveaway Winner!

Hello everyone.  I hope each of you have had a good week.  Can you believe how fast the week goes by?  Maybe I am just getting older and older but time seems to fly by.  Anyway, I had a nice week.  On Wednesday we went with some friends to Las Vegas and returned home on Friday.  It's less than a 5 hour drive from where I live but it's not a pretty drive - desert and heat!  We stayed at the Bellagio which was very nice.  I lost my limit of $50.00 playing the slot machines.  We went to the Tribute to the Bee Gees show which was very good.  But it's always feels good to return home and back to my mild weather and green surroundings.

Have any of you visited the blog Mr. Micawber's Recipe for Happiness ?  I can't remember how I discovered this blog but it was the first blog I ever visited.  Mrs. Micawber (Sue) has wonderful crochet patterns that she designs and shares on her blog.  I think I have made each and every one of her scarf patterns.  Here's one (Laurel Leaf Scarf)  that I finished this week:

I added a couple of extra rows to her pattern and I also added some beads.  Here's a picture of the vintage yarn that I had bought years ago from a seller on ebay:

I had tried many patterns using this yarn and none seemed to work until I made this scarf.

I am thinking that I will give this scarf away as a gift to a friend who is getting married soon.  It was a fun and fast project to complete.

Now for the news you have been waiting for......the winner of the pincushion giveaway is:

...... Jan from from Tasmania!  Thank you to all of you who have entered.  And, thank you for visiting Lilly My Cat.

Don't forget to check out Handmade Monday and see what lovely items people are creating.  I wish you each a wonderful week and look forward to hearing from you soon.
